Positioned in the hoek of a busy-four-junction street, the owner desires a house with maximum privacy and comfort. We decided to design a courtyard house, not one courtyard, but two courtyards; one on ground level, the other on second floor connected to the rooftop. The aim is to get more access to the natural light while maintaining privacy from the street.
For achieving modern feeling, we chose strong monochromatic colors with a touch of medium-to-dark wood accents. This choice we kept holding on to from the facade to the interior.
We use a lot of straight lines for the visual compositions. This brings more modern look into the overall result. The courtyard on the first and the second floor allow more natural lights into the house and gives more comfort to the interior.
Plan
The 3 kids bedrooms and main bedroom have different personality. Each one of the family members desire different approach to their room. But we bind them all with similar choice of base color and wood tone. This includes the roof lounge where we choose deeper overall tone for an intimate atmosphere.
